Dining
Enjoy a complimentary plated breakfast of pastries, fresh fruit, entree, and a variety of drinks. The parlor is available in the afternoon for guests to relax with a book, beverage, and a variety of snacks. We can cater a brunch, reception, or dinner in casual gourmet style. Rent the entire Mansion for a family event, and ask about a special dinner for you and your guests. Prices for meals depend upon menu and number of guests. We do offer first person murder mystery dinners on the third Saturday of each month. Call for details.
Amenities
We offer a variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. Free cable - WiFi, private bath, and a spa tub come with every room. We provide plated breakfasts, snacks, plus 24/7 hot beverage service via Keurig! The guest service areas include an I-Forgot amenities chest, small refrigerator, microwave, triple-filtered water, cups, plates. stemware, and flatware. Our parlor, garden deck & wedding chapel are available for your events. Ask about our carriage tours of historic Metropolis.
Official Home of Superman
Metropolis, Illinois was designated the official home of Superman in 1977. Our favorite son has been celebrated with an annual festival ever since. Stay at our b&b. Take in the sights. Use our wedding venues, or get married in front of the statue. Archery tournaments, fall encampment, hiking, hunting, even SCUBA. There are so many things to see and do here in Southern Illinois.

Hiking/Biking Trails
Riverview Mansion is minutes away from six state parks and the Shawnee Forest. Whether you enjoy footing it or rolling it, the Southern Illinois region offers some of the best short, medium, and long scenic trails in Amertica.
Winery and Brewery Tours
Southern Illinois and Northwestern Kentucky enjoy a rich viticulture. There are 12 wineries - breweries within an hour of Riverview Mansion. Purple Toad, Hog Hollow, Blue Sky, Rustle Hill, Big Muddy are some of them. Come and taste.
Murder Mystery Dinners
Our 2.5 hour dinners feature a 4 course, casual gourmet meal, and a 1st person mystery to solve. Dinners need 6+ guests at a cost of $35 a person, or $175/night if you want the full B&B experience. Check the Events below for dates, or plan a private party. Call for reservations and details.
Hike and Bike Package
We recommend a two night stay if you want to do a medium or long trail. Fort Massac is 17 miles, Tunnel Hill is 55 miles. There are dozens of trails and hundreds of miles to choose from in the Shawnee Forest. We offer a room, maps, drop off and pick up service to your trailhead, bike usage, and a trail snack for $180 plus tax per night. All of our other amenities are included.
Wine Tour Package
We offer a six hour a day maximum, three to six stop road-trip of Southern Illinois wineries. We suggest a two night stay if you want to leisurely visit all six. Bring extra cash or plastic as some wineries charge for their tours and tastings. We offer a room, itinerary planning, and package handling for $175 plus tax per night plus an additional $50 per hour donation for tour time up to six hours. All of our other amenities are included.
Watersports, Hunting/Fishing
Southern Illinois is a hidden treasure for watersports and outdoorsmen. Most area lakes have marinas that rent watercraft, or bring your own. We have telescopes for wildlife viewing. We offer a room, drop off & pick up service to your spot, a midday snack, freezer for game, and a list of local processors for $180 plus tax per night. All of our other amenities are included.
